Concord Ventures Principal Makes Joint Presentation at Northwest Family Business Advisers

July 26, 2011 | Concord Ventures

Bellevue, WA, July, 2011 Salim Dada, principal of Concord Ventures, and James Carney, Vice President at Bernstein Global Wealth Management, made a joint presentation at the July meeting of Northwest Family Business Advisers in Seattle.

Entitled “Anatomy of a Small Business Sale: Management of the Many Twists, Turns and Surprises”, the content was based on Concord Ventures’ experience of selling a machining and fabrication company.

The business owner needed to sell due to poor health. Hurdles to the sale included death of the accountant, environmental issues that had to be resolved, withdrawal of the original buyer (a close relative), and lack of funds on the part of the buyer.

Two banks declined the deal before one accepted. The sale was financed through the Small Business Administration.
